Labelling our products: the new rules
Respect for the environment

Our commitment to the environment is expressed in three distinct and complementary ways: very strict compliance withenvironmental laws, constant compliance with the regulations in our product development programmes, and ongoing requirements through our ambitious initiatives aimed at reducing hazards and environmental incidents.

We are committed to:
• Using appropriate principles of pollution prevention to reduce the generation and release of waste
• Communicating openly and honestly with all regulatory agencies
• Ensuring that all compliance records are accurate and complete
• Identifying products that have a connection with specific problems
• Notifying and cooperating with the appropriate authorities if an incident occurs that threatens the health or safety of individuals outside plant boundaries. All Arch employees are responsible and must ensure they support our commitment to environmental excellence.
All Arch operations are to be conducted in a manner that protects the health and safety of all people, in all circumstances.

We require each of our employees to:
• Find out what environmental requirements apply to their present or new job and how to follow those requirements without deviation, regardless of how demanding they might be
• Never bypass, disconnect, or disable any monitoring equipment or waste control or treatment equipment
• Take immediate steps to correct any malfunctioning of waste monitoring, control or treatment equipment
• Never falsify, destroy or conceal any records required by the regulations
• Never dispose of waste unless the employee knows the disposal is in compliance with the regulations and Arch environmental standards.
